AI in Research Program Manager (Researcher or Senior Researcher)

The National Research Centre for the Working Environment (NFA) in Denmark is seeking a visionary and technically adept AI in Research Program Manager to spearhead the integration of artificial intelligence across our multidisciplinary research programs. This strategically pivotal role aligns with NFA's 2025–2028 strategy to establish the center as a digital frontrunner in occupational safety and health research. The program is structured as an iterative organizational capacity-building initiative, with the aim of publishing tools and findings throughout its development whilst they are also applied in our research programs.
Job description
You will play a pivotal role in transforming occupational safety and health research through the strategic integration of artificial intelligence into our research processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership: Design, implement, and evaluate the AI in Re-search Program (AIRP), focusing on identifying, testing, and scaling AI solutions that enhance research efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaboration: Work closely with diverse multidisciplinary research teams to understand their unique needs and provide tailored AI solu-tions, fostering an environment of innovation and continuous im-provement.
- Capacity Building: Develop, deliver or procure training programs to elevate AI literacy among research staff, ensuring the ethical and ef-fective application of AI technologies.
- Program Evaluation. Conduct organizational and individual needs assessment and evaluation of AI capabilities, use and performance.
- Technology Assessment: Continuously monitor emerging AI technol-ogies, evaluating their potential impact, risks, and applicability within NFA's research programs.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate program progress and in-sights effectively to executive management and relevant internal stakeholders, contributing to strategic decision-making processes.
The AI in Research Program Manager reports directly to NFA's Director General, Steffen Bohni, reflecting the strategic importance of the role within the organization.

• Educational Background: Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• Technical Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in applying AI meth-odologies to both quantitative and qualitative research in one or more fields.
• Project Management: Proven experience in leading complex projects, with strong change management capabilities.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate across disciplines,
• Ethical Acumen: Deep understanding of the ethical considerations surrounding AI applications in research.
Salary and Terms of Employment
The job is a full-time position located in Copenhagen, Denmark. We would like you to start at August 1st 2025 or at earliest convenience.
As a Researcher the job has a duration of 3 years, with the possibility of contract extension.
If you are hired as a Senior Researcher, it will be in a permanent position.
You will be employed as a Researcher or a Senior Researcher according to the collective agreement for academic staff between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) and according to the job specifications for scientific staff employed at government research institutions.
