Copenhagen Stress Research Centre

About the Centre

The centre aims to strengthen collaboration in stress research and to promote a broad understanding of stress, including its causes, mechanisms, consequences, prevention, interventions and recovery. The collaboration also supports the recruitment and training of researchers within the field of stress research.

The centre’s research covers a broad range of topics, including definitions and concepts of stress, bodily reactions to stress, the relationship between stress and mental illness, mechanisms linking stress to disease, societal consequences of stress and evidence-based approaches to prevention and treatment.

By bringing together researchers from universities, hospitals and national research institutions, the centre provides a platform for scientific exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration and the continued development of stress research.

Organisation

The Copenhagen Stress Research Centre is led by a steering committee with representatives from the participating institutions. The steering committee meets regularly and supports the coordination and development of the centre’s activities.

The participating institutions include the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Bispebjerg University Hospital, the National Research Centre for the Working Environment and the Department of Public Health at the University of Copenhagen.

Research Collaboration

The centre serves as a shared platform for researchers with a common interest in stress research. Through collaboration across institutions and disciplines, the centre supports the exchange of knowledge, the development of new research ideas and the strengthening of research capacity within the field.

The centre’s activities reflect a broad understanding of stress research and encourage dialogue between different scientific traditions and research environments.
